One of the big names to come out of Bahia’s youth divisions in the last decade, Anderson Talisca is currently a teammate of star Cristiano Ronaldo in Arab football.
A native of Bahia and an avowed Bahia fan, Talisca frequently mentions the Esquadrão de Aço in interviews, as well as being a regular visitor to the club’s training center.
At 30 years old, and with a contract with Al Nassr until 2026, the midfielder spoke about how he sees his future in football and guarantees that he plans to wear the Bahia shirt again. But not in the near future.
The player’s idea is to return to Tricolor de Aço to ‘end his career’ with the club.
“This for me is something I won’t give up. Only if City or Bahia don’t want to. But returning to Brazil now is not my goal, especially because my career is very organized, well structured, ten years outside Brazil. Very solid career, I maintained a very high standard of performance. (…) But closing in Bahia is something that is already planned.”
However, he states that he still has no idea when he intends to return to the club, but promises that it will be with quality on the field.
“It’s something I always have in my heart, it was Bahia that opened the doors for me. I have this affection. But I don’t do the math, as long as I’m enduring, enduring, playing well. I don’t want to end without quality“.
In 2023, Talisca had also cited a dream of playing for Corinthians before wearing the Bahia shirt.
Talisca came to Brazilian football in 2013, with emphasis on Bahia, leaving the club in mid-2014 when it was sold to Benfica.
Since leaving the Esquadrão, he has accumulated transactions with clubs such as Besiktas, from Türkiye; Guangzhou Evergrande, from China; and more recently for Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.
At the Arab club, Talisca is one of the top scorers despite having CR7 as a team partner. There were 26 goals scored and six assists in the 31 games played in the 2023/2024 season.
