On the second day of rescues in Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Pedro Scooby reported that he managed to save around 50 people who were in a school, in addition to 20 dogs they found in a gym. The searches are being carried out in Eldorado do Sul (RS), through jet skisbut nothing prevents the route from changing on Wednesday (8).

Together with other giant wave surfers and state authorities, they went through the flooded streets of the city of Rio Grande do Sul to save people and animals. “Today was a special day”, began Scooby, who even flew over the area in a helicopter.

According to Scooby, they spent the whole day rescuing people and due to lack of internet he was unable to respond to all the messages he received. “The people talked about the Getúlio Vargas School, we managed to locate it, there were a lot of people, we rescued everyone,” he said.

Chumbo, who was driving the car, highlighted that there were around 50 people. “Obviously, a huge team effort, a lot of great people. I want to thank everyone. The Civil Police, Federal Police, Firefighters, everyone there”, continued Scooby. See images here.

Man, it was a bit of a tense situation, but in the end everything worked out, we managed to control the situation”, he highlighted.

While transporting two children, he came across a dog and said: “let’s get him”. Then, the animal was placed on the jet ski. “Ending another day in the middle of chaos. Today was different, we had to carry out operations inside schools, where there were different types of people. Everything worked out,” he concluded.

Pedro Scooby also reports that many people do not want to leave home. “A lot of people don’t want to leave their houses, it’s on the second floor,” he comments.

In one of the rescues, he says he discovered that one of the residents, who did not want to leave his home, was with his pregnant wife, but after talking to him he understood that he needed to go to a safe area.

“There was also a mother who had just had a cesarean section. The baby was one week, two weeks […] Within all the terror and all the tragedy… a relief, affection in the heart”, celebrated Scooby.
