With a delegation of 60 athletes who will compete in eight modalities, Nilton Lins University begins this week, the dispute in the state stage of the Brazilian University Games (JUBs), promoted by the Amazonian University Sports Federation and which guarantees the winners participation in the national tournament that takes place in Brasília, in October.

Among the University’s highlights is the Men’s Handball team led by coach José Carlos Ferreira, which has collected state and national titles, including first place in the access division of the 2022 Brazilian University Games.

In addition to Handball, Nilton Lins athletes will participate in Women’s and Men’s Volleyball, Men’s Basketball, Men’s Futsal, Olympic Wrestling, Swimming, Chess and Men’s and Women’s Tennis tournaments.

Since its foundation, 35 years ago, Nilton Lins University has had among its pillars the support and encouragement of sports in Amazonas, and in its history it has a series of achievements in state, national and international university competitions in various modalities.

Through the Sports Incentive Program, developed by the Nilton Lins Foundation, in partnership with the University and schools, students/athletes who are part of sports teams receive scholarships, in addition to technical support and uniforms for competitions.

With 20 modalities in dispute, the state stage of the JUBs will be played on every weekend in May in various locations in Manaus.
