Warsaw (Poland) – Current leader of the world rankings and champion on Saturday of the WTA 1000 in Madrid, Iga Swiatek, appears on the cover of the Polish version of Elle magazine. Iga already appeared on the magazine’s cover two years ago, in January 2022, shortly before reaching the top of the world rankings following Ashleigh Barty’s retirement.

For this shoot, she wore a black two-piece dress with ruffles, a wide-brimmed hat, and orange flip-flops on her feet. The new edition hits newsstands this Tuesday, showing a more mature Swiatek in more ways than one, from her choices in terms of dressing style to the interview she gives.

“Two years ago, I wanted to prove that I was in a good position, I didn’t feel like a fully experienced competitor. I was learning to face the first wave of success and the expectations associated with it,” the now four-time Grand Slam champion told editor-in-chief Marta Tabiś-Szymanek, as quoted on the magazine’s Instagram.

“I’m not just a tennis player anymore. My role is not as easy as I imagined, when at 12 years old I dreamed of a career.”

Styled by Karolina Limbach and photographed by Gosia Turczyńska, Swiatek illustrates a pair of covers. On the first, she wears an elegant black ball gown, with a high neck and long sleeves, with a cutout at the waist and her hair pulled back. On the second cover, Swiatek appears in a vibrant red dress, with one arm elegantly above her head.
