George Russell wants to understand the reason for Mercedes’ lack of pace during the F1 Miami GP. The competitor pointed out that it is still necessary to analyze what happened, as he believes that the car had some unusual issue.

In qualifying, the former Williams managed to line up in seventh place, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton was eighth. However, in last Sunday’s race, he was unable to maintain the good pace and finished in eighth place, while the seven-time champion crossed the finish line in sixth.

Still, in the final laps, the Brit was unable to face Yuki Tsunoda, without ever really threatening the Japanese’s seventh place in the final laps. “Something didn’t feel right with the car. There was just no rhythm, no grip. You know, I was slower than Yuki during the entire last stint. So we need to see what happened,” he assessed.

“I really don’t know, to be honest. It’s just weeks going around in circles for us at the moment. You know, on a good day we’re fifth, on a bad day, we’re eighth. And today was a bad day and we finished eighth”, he concluded.
