The Superior Court of Sports Justice for Football converted a total of R$ 85 thousand in fines into donations to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul. The fines were applied to Cuiabá and John Textor by the Plenary auditors and correspond to half of the amount applied to those punished. The decision was communicated this Monday, May 6, and a period of three days was granted for payment. New values ​​may arise in cases that will be judged this week.

In case 072/2024, Cuiabá had its appeal partially granted and the fine of R$200,000 reduced to R$70,000 due to non-compliance with the decision of the Sports Court and the general competition regulations. The Plenary included in the decision handed down on May 2nd that half of the amount, that is, R$ 35 thousand, should be allocated to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul.

The second process that yielded value to help those affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul was process 394/2023, in which John Textor, owner of SAF Botafogo was punished for offensive statements against the CBF after the match against Palmeiras, in Series A 2023. Punished in the first degree with 35 days of suspension and a fine of R$ 75 thousand, Textor had his sentence increased on appeal to a total suspension of 45 days and a fine of R$100,000, appeal judged on April 26. The auditors noted on the day of the trial that half of the fine would be allocated to charities registered with the football court. This Monday, Botafogo was informed that the R$50 thousand should be directed to the South of Brazil with the information for the pix.
