Brazil advances to the semifinals of the women’s 3×3 basketball Pre-Olympics after victory over Japan

The Brazilian women’s 3×3 basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Pre-Olympic Tournament, which is being held in Utsunomiya, Japan. This Saturday, they beat the hosts 13 to 12, scoring a basket in the last seconds. The information is from Estadão*

The women’s team is looking for a place in the final against Australia this Sunday, at 5:45 am, Brasília time. The Pre-Olympic only allocates one place in Paris-2024, to the tournament champion.

Brazil finished second in its group, just behind Germany, who beat Austria 21-9. The German team will face Canada in the semifinals. The match will take place at 5:20 am this Sunday.

This Saturday, the Brazilian team started behind the scoreboard, showing a lot of difficulty in shooting. After four minutes, it became 5-4 and never went ahead. The classification, however, came with emotion. The Japanese tied in the final minute: 12 to 12, but, with three seconds left in the match, Clarissa gave Brazil the victory: 13 to 12

The men’s team did not have the same luck. In balanced games, they lost to Lithuania and Puerto Rico and said goodbye to the tournament this Saturday after being surpassed and dominated by the Netherlands 22-15.
