Since yesterday, the municipality of Sorriso has hosted the Central-West Sports Shooting Championship CAR/ PST/ RF and Fossa, a competition nationally endorsed by the Brazilian Shooting Sports Confederation (CBTE) and the Mato Grosso Shooting Federation (FTMT). The event is bringing together around 105 shooters from the Federal District, among other states in Brazil, until next Sunday (05), at the Associação Sorrisense de Tiro – Sorriso Clube de Tiro.
The event is attended by delegations from the Federal District and other states, such as Pernambuco, Alagoas, Santa Catarina, Paraná and Brasília.
Within the program, the State Shooting Championship will also be held – 2nd northern regional stage, between May 3rd and 4th, with shooters from several cities in Mato Grosso, such as Sinop, Lucas do Rio Verde, Nova Mutum, Cuiabá, Rondonópolis, Tangará da Serra, Alta Floresta and Sorriso.
“We preferred to hold both stages during the same event due to the logistics and organization being similar for both championships. While the national competition will bring together the best shooters from across the country, the state championship celebrates the meeting of local talents who compete in specific disciplines, such as precision shooting, shooting with long weapons, short weapons, among others”, highlighted Rafael Rovaris, one of the event organizers.
The competitions have the support of the City Hall, through the Department of Sports and Leisure (Semel). Both take place at the Associação Sorrisense de Tiro – Sorriso Clube de Tiro, located on Estrada Preima, Km 10, towards Sinop.
