In a highly contested classic under intense heat at the Luso-Brazilian Stadium, the Botafogo was defeated by Flamengo 3-2 this Thursday (2/5) and completed the fifth consecutive match without winning in the competition.

The Gloriosas took the lead after six minutes of play, with Gabi Itacaré. However, in the first half, Flamengo managed to turn things around, with goals from Jucinara, Gisseli and Fabi Simões. Botafogo still had a clear penalty ignored by the referee.

In the second half, Botafogo looked for a reaction. In the 11th minute, Kélen, with a header, reduced the score for the Gloriosas. The black and white team tried to equalize, but ended up making many mistakes and the closest to scoring was Flamengo, but the classic ended 3-2.

Led by coach Bruno Goulart, Botafogo played with Michelle; Silvana, Káren and Nalon (Letícia Debiasi); Bruna (Pâmela), Vitorinha (Duda Basílio), Jordana, Driely and Chai (Kewllen); Gabi Itacaré (Nath Fabem) and Kélen.

With the result, Botafogo remained in 11th place, with seven points, just two above the relegation zone. The Gloriosas return to the field next Monday (6/5) against Corinthians, at 4:30 pm, at the Nilton Santos Stadium, broadcast by SporTV.
