Now it’s quarter finals! Flamengo and Fortaleza Basquete Cearense face off this Friday (03), at 8pm (Brasília time), at Tijuca Tênis Clube, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), for the first game of the quarter-finals of the NBB 2023/2024. Fla TV+ and Sportv, in addition to NBB Basquetpass (pay-per-view), will broadcast the game live.

Flamengo was the team with the best campaign in the first phase of the NBB, with 31 wins and five defeats, while Fortaleza was eighth in the standings, with 20 wins and 16 stumbles. The two teams reached the round of 16 in two games: Fla beat Botafogo, while Leão do Pici defeated São José.
Best of five
From the quarterfinals onwards, NBB clashes are decided in the best of five games. Therefore, whoever wins three duels will qualify. The first clash takes place at the home of the team with the best campaign, while the second and third take place at the home of the other team. If necessary, the last two duels return to the favorite’s home.
In the case of Flamengo and Fortaleza, the first game will take place this Friday. The second duel is scheduled for Tuesday (07), at 7:30 pm, at the Olympic Training Center, in Fortaleza, while the third will take place on Thursday (9), at 7:30 pm. The fourth and fifth matches do not yet have a defined schedule.
The winner of the duel between Flamengo and Fortaleza will face the winner of R10 Score Vasco da Gama and Bauru. Furthermore, the other side of the bracket has Sesi Franca, current two-time champion, and Paulistano, and Minas and São Paulo. Both the semis and finals also take place in best of five games.
Considering the direct confrontation, Flamengo has a wide advantage over Basquete Cearense. In the last 20 clashes between the two teams, there were 18 victories for Rio and only two for Ceará. In the current season, there were two triumphs for Flamengo. The last northeastern victory was in December 2016. Since then, there have been 15 consecutive victories for Rubro-Negro.
