After a long period away from the field, striker Dudu is preparing to return to play for Palmeiras.
Verdão’s number seven shirt, Dudu has been out of the team since August 2023, when he was injured in a match against Vasco, for the Brazilian Championship. With a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, the attacker was expected to return within 12 months, but Dudu is already in the final stages of recovery and is already training on the field with his teammates.
Even so, the coaching staff and the athlete himself do not want to set a date for his return to the field, to avoid frustration. In an interview with BandNews, Dudu commented a little about his recovery.

“We are still training. I don’t usually talk about a return date, because we can get frustrated ourselves. We are evolving in our treatment, in our daily training, to return as quickly as possible”said the idol of Verdão.
Even without wanting to put a specific date, the tendency is for Dudu to be available to coach Abel Ferreira until the beginning of June.
Registered for the Libertadores, the striker also commented on his teammates’ incredible comeback against Independiente Del Valle, last Wednesday (24), in a match valid for the third round of the competition, away from home.
“You can never discredit Palmeiras. Losing 2-0, a completely unfavorable game, we managed to turn things around. Congratulations to the team. Now, on Monday, the team has an important challenge against São Paulo”added Dudu.
Verdão returns to the field next Monday (29), to face São Paulo, at the Morumbi Stadium, at 8pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the fourth round of the Brazilian Championship.
