Basketball Santos defeats Liga Sorocabana 87 to 83

O Basketball Santos/Fupes/BlueMed/Instituto de Rosis won the Liga Sorocabana, away from home, by 87 to 83, and became the conference leader again in the Brazilian Men’s Basketball Championship.

Santos’ team recovered after the defeat to Basket Osasco, last week. With Wednesday’s triumph (24), they took over the top of the table again, with ten points, with four wins in six games. Basquete Santos has one more game than vice-leader Basket Osasco.

The game started very competitively, but with the Sorocaba team leading during almost the entire first half. Even with good moments, Basquete Santos finished the first half behind, 45 to 44. The second half was played point by point, but the Santos team managed to turn things around and won 87 to 83.

Gabriel de Oliveira: 19 points, six assists and one rebound

Gabriel Soldi: 12 points, six rebounds and three blocks

Guga Ceccato: Seven points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals

Basquete Santos’ next game is next Wednesday (1), the Santos team faces Brusque at Arena Santos, at 5pm. Entry is free and the broadcast is the responsibility of the Basketball Santos TV.

CBB Championship

The Brazilian Men’s Basketball Championship is organized by the CBB, making it an official national basketball competition. Since 2020, the Brazilian Club Championship has become the second division of national basketball.

Until the end of last year, the CBB championship gave the NBB a place, but with a major legal dispute, the NBB ceased to be an official championship, so the decision is still undefined.
