Xico Andebol is mourning the death of Paulo Abreu, a young 26-year-old full-back, who began his training at Fermentões and joined the school club in the 2015 season, having helped win the title of national champion of the second season. division, in the 2020/2021 season.

“Paulo Abreu was an exemplary athlete in every way. In addition to being a prominent figure on the field, with several titles won at the service of the University of Minho and Xico Andebol, he was also an example of integrity, fair play and dedication to the sport”, recall the Guimarães leaders, in an official note published on the social networks.

“As captain of the team, Paulo Abreu led us with mastery, being a source of inspiration for his colleagues, managers and even his opponents. His passion for handball and our club was evident in every game he played and in every moment he spent with his teammates”, they add.

“Clube Desportivo Xico Andebol will pay a worthy tribute to our beloved Paulo Abreu, honoring his memory and legacy within our sporting family”, they write.
