The Paris Olympic Games could establish new important milestones for Brazilian sport. Two of the biggest stars of the delegation, Isaquias Queiroz and Rebeca Andrade could become the biggest medalists in the country’s history in the biggest sporting event on the planet.
At the moment, the leaders of the list are Robert Scheidt (two golds, two silvers and one bronze) and Torben Grael (two golds, one silver and two bronzes). There are five medals for each of the sailors.
The closest active athlete to this mark is Isaquias Queiroz. The Bahian has one gold, two silvers and one bronze. At the Paris Olympic Games, he will compete in the C1-1000 and C2-500. If he gets on the podium in both events, he will reach six medals.
Despite having two Olympic medals and being far from the other athletes mentioned, Rebeca Andrade can enter this dispute. It is no exaggeration to say that the new star of gymnastics is a candidate for six medals in Paris 2024.
The Brazilian will fight for the podium in vault, floor exercise, uneven bars, beam, all-around and team competitions.
In the best possible scenario, difficult due to the unpredictability of some devices, Rebeca Andrade could leave Paris with eight Olympic medals, isolating herself as leader of the list and the greatest Brazilian athlete in history.
Canoeing in Paris 2024
The speed canoeing competition will be held from August 6th to 10th at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, 39km from the Olympic and Paralympic Village.
Isaquias Queiroz will compete in the individual canoe C1-1000 and double canoe C2-500 races.
Artistic gymnastics in Paris 2024
Artistic gymnastics will be held between July 27th and August 5th, at Arena Bercy. In addition to Rebeca Andrade, Simone Biles is another star who will compete in the Paris Olympic Games.
