House was painted to look like a 2D animation
During the Summer 2024 Launch Event from the Airbnbthe company revealed two new special houses that recreate famous animations from Disney — the first inspired by the classic Pixar, Up: High Adventuresand a second based on the new animated series X-Men ’97.
Located in New Castle, New York, the X-Mansion was renovated to look like the Charles Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters from the cartoon, including textures that simulate a two-dimensional, very cartoonish look. According to the press release, each prop was painted by hand in a process that lasted more than an hour. Check out:
In collaboration with the Microsoftthe company built different experiences to ensure fan immersion, such as training with stuntmen in the Danger Room, using Cerebro’s helmet, creating potions in Beast’s laboratory, reconstructing the Wolverine meme, among other activities designed for fans.
The mansion can be rented by a group of up to eight people, who can sleep in four beds on site, with access to two bathrooms. The cost per person is $97which is approximately equivalent to R$503.99.
