Sesi Araraquara and Campinas win state duels in the LBF

This Thursday night (25) belonged to the visiting teams in the Women’s Basketball League (LBF). Playing away from home, Sesi Araraquara defeated BAX Catanduva 88-64 to end the week in second place in the LBF general classification. Also playing away from home, Unimed Campinas beat Pontz/São José 76 to 67.

Sesi Araraquara knew how to use its squad to beat BAX Catanduva. The current LBF champion had a good first half and went into the break winning the game 46 to 33. With the advantage on the scoreboard, coach João Camargo took the opportunity to give his athletes a run on the bench. The team reduced its intensity, especially in defense, but managed to maintain the advantage on the scoreboard to confirm the victory by 88 to 64.

With 17 efficiency, Izabela Andrade was the MVP of the match with 10 points and nine rebounds for Sesi Araraquara. The team’s top scorer was Emanuelly Oliveira, who came off the bench to score 16 points. On the BAX Catanduva side, Bianca Araújo, with 18 points, and Bárbara Souza, with 16 points and 11 rebounds, were the team’s highlights.

Campinas wins again

Unimed Campinas was coming off two consecutive defeats against Sampaio Basquete and Ituano. But the team found victory again this Thursday against Pontz/São José. Most of the game was balanced, with the two teams alternating in the lead. However, in the final five minutes, Campinas managed to pull away on the scoreboard and secure a 76-67 victory.

Senegalese pivot Fatou Diagne was the MVP and scorer of the match with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 35 efficiency. Licinara, with 19 points, and Babi Honório, with 16, led the Campinas attack alongside Fatou. For São José, Gabrielly Parro was the team’s top scorer with 13 points, while Juliana Souza had a double-double, with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
