Since 1995, the magazine’s influential publisher “Vogue“American, Anna Wintour, leads the ceremony. She is also the one who selects the guests for the party. Those who are not on the publisher’s list can purchase an invitation, at a very high price: in 2014, the cost reached US$25,000.
The highlight of the celebration is the red carpet, where celebrity outfits are presented. The Met Gala 2024 takes place this Monday (6). It is recognized as one of the most prestigious in the fashion industry, attracting very relevant personalities from the world of arts. 2024 Dress Code – “The Garden of Time“
The 2024 Met Gala theme, titled “The Garden of Time”is related to the celebration of fashion pieces so fragile that they can never be worn again, becoming true “sleeping beauties” in the archives of Costume Institute. This year’s show aims to awaken these pieces to display, with a range ranging from Elizabethan-era corsets to modern creations, all reflecting the beauty and fragility of the natural world. According to Vogue and the Metropolitan Museum, the event will be divided into three subthemes: Earth, Sea It is Sky.
O Met Gala host committee
This year, the so-called “Oscars of Fashion,” will celebrate the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”. The red carpet, held on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum, promises to be a style spectacle.
