Madrid (Spain) – After winning his debut match at the Masters 1000 in Madrid last Wednesday, Thiago Wild returns to the court this Friday at 6am (Brasília time), on court 7 of the Caixa Mágica complex. The number 1 in Brazil and 63rd in the world faces the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, ranked 29th. The meeting is unprecedented on the professional circuit, but Wild defeated Musetti in the final of the US Open youth in 2018.

Friday in Madrid will be the second round for men and women and the debuts of some seeded players, including two two-time champions of the tournament, Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz, who play in the morning. Sabalenka enters the court at around 7:30 am to face Poland’s Magda Linette. Later, at 11am, it will be Alcaraz’s turn to debut against Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko.

Also playing in the main stadium is Kazakh Elena Rybakina, champion of Stuttgart last Sunday and number 4 in the world. She debuts at 6am against Italian Lucia Bronzetti.

First day with night session

The round will also have something new compared to the first days of the tournament, a night session on the Manolo Santana court, starting at 3pm. First, German Alexander Zverev debuts against Croatian Borna Coric. At the end of the program, North American Danielle Collins faces Serbian Olga Danilovic.

Bia and Ingrid debut in doubles

The Brazilian partnership of Beatriz Haddad Maia and Ingrid Martins makes its debut in the doubles bracket. They enter the court at around 10:30 am against the Spanish Cristina Bucsa and Sara Sorribes.
