Lara di Mello is one of the organizers of the Movimento Não Ama Como A Gente, a group that leads these actions, working as an illustrator and designer. To the geshe explained one of the difficulties in assembling it.

– The most difficult part of this game was the operation of guiding fans to the center of the stands, purposely leaving the most extreme sectors closed. This way, we were able to guarantee the necessary number of people to lift the mosaic tiles at the team’s entrance to the field.

In total, 23,800 people attended Nilton Santos, with the party sector – Upper East and Lower East – selling out in advance. After two defeats in the Libertadores group stage, Botafogo needed to win to continue dreaming of possible qualification.

– In the game against Junior Barranquilla, we chose not to create a mosaic as an action in the stands due to the 7pm time, making it difficult for all fans to enter the stadium to perform the mosaic. From this analysis, we saw that we could, indeed, make a mosaic, as long as the main design was well centered in the stands, he explained.

The pieces were distributed among the chairs the day before, which was the São Jorge holiday in Rio de Janeiro, and there were fewer people. As a result, it took the 50 volunteers involved five hours to place them.

On game day, flyers were distributed and shared on social media to help with execution.

In a press conference after the game, Portuguese coach Artur Jorge thanked the fans and mentioned the “spectacle” in the stands.

– I want to show my gratitude, but also that of the entire cast, to the fans. It was the first spectacle we had on the field. It’s impossible today that we didn’t win because of the atmosphere.
