The triumph in Ecuador made Verdão surpass the traditional Peñarol in the list of clubs with the most victories as a visitor in the competition. The Uruguayans have 52 wins in 185 games, while Palmeiras now has 53 wins in 118 matches.

Palmeiras also reached fifth place among the clubs with the most victories in Libertadores, and now shares fifth place with Olímpia-PAR, with 134 victories each.

Undefeated in Libertadores 2024, Verdão doesn’t know what it’s like to lose as a visitor in the competition for seven games and now will only have one more game away from home in the group stage, against Liverpool-URU.
