Aljamain Sterling recovered in UFC 300, event held in April, in Las Vegas (USA). After losing the fight by knockout and the bantamweight belt (61 kg) to Sean O’Malley, the former champion moved up to featherweight (66 kg), faced Calvin Kattar and won on points. Happy with the result, ‘Funk Master’ made a bold statement.

On his ‘YouTube’ channel, Sterling approved his performance and classified the fight as the most dominant of UFC 300. In the great show, Alex ‘Poatan’ quickly knocked out Jamahal Hill in the ‘main event’, Bo Nickal easily passed Cody Brundage , Kayla Harrison took no notice of Holly Holm, Diego Lopes needed just over a minute to beat Sodiq Yusuff and Bobby Green punished Jim Miller. But, according to the athlete, his level of control in the octagon was so impressive that he shouldn’t go unnoticed by the league and fans.

“Don’t get me wrong, our fight wasn’t the most entertaining, but it was the most dominant fight you could have seen in the entire event. You have a guy who, on average, lands about four or five hits a minute, which has been reduced to about 0.5 or so by 15 minutes. Kattar is a guy who fought everything with Holloway, Chikadze, without a doubt, beat Emmett, had a great performance against a guy who is knocking out like Ige, knocked out Burgos, beat Fili. To put my skills against his and reduce him from someone so dangerous to literally no threat, I think I deserve a little credit.”

Sterling’s MMA Record

His main triumphs were over Calvin Kattar, Cory Sandhagen, Henry Cejudo, Pedro Munhoz, Petr Yan (twice), Renan Barão and TJ Dillashaw.
