More than 320 athletes, representing 12 municipalities in the region, participate in the 2nd edition of the Regional Games for the Elderly (Jori).
The official opening of the event took place on Wednesday (17) at the Unipar gymnasium with all the rites that mark official game ceremonies. The competitions lasted until April 19th.
The event was promoted by the Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure (Smel) of Toledo with support from Cresol, the 2nd Jori had the participation of athletes from Entre Rios do Oeste, Guaíra, Itaipulândia, Marechal Cândido Rondon, Medianeira, Mercedes, Missal, Nova Santa Rosa, Pato Bragado, Quatro Pontes, Santa Helena and Toledo.
Elderly people over 60 years old participated in the competitions, involved in five sports adapted for the elderly: zone handball, volleyball in the dark, clock basketball, beach volleyball, badminton and exchange volleyball.
In the men’s shuttlecock event, the Entrerriense team won 2nd place;
Men’s zone handball – 3rd place;
Basketball men’s watch – 3rd place;
And in men’s volleyball in the dark (athletes aged 70 or over), 4th place.
The Department of Sports, Leisure and Tourism of Entre Rios do Oeste congratulates all teachers and other professionals involved and especially the athletes for their determination, commitment and determination to pursue their goals, congratulating them on the results obtained, representing very well the municipality in competitions.
