“What Raul Gustavo did is absurd”, says Careca Bertaglia | The Voice of the Fan

The defeat was Corinthians’ third in a row and the team’s fourth consecutive game without scoring goals. Assistant Bruno Lazaroni, who signed the scoresheet once again as coach in the tournament due to António Oliveira’s lack of license, analyzed the defeat.

– Since I was a child, I have a father who has been involved in football for a long time and I have dealt with it since I was six or seven years old, this is normal (pressure for results). We have to assume our responsibilities, talk less and act more. We ended up conceding a goal after a minute and everything fell apart. We have to come together to get out of this situation – said Lazaroni.

The lack of goals was diagnosed by the assistant as the cause of the lack of success in the attack’s offensive clashes. Lazaroni also explained the option for Pedro Henrique instead of Wesley.

– Two situations that we need to evolve. We need to increase the rate of duels and win to be able to progress further on the field. A lot of players come behind the line of the ball, we end up not being able to win to progress on the field, so we have more crosses and goal situations. Our moment is so bad that on the first ball we ended up conceding a goal, we had a chance afterwards and were unable to score.

– Wesley’s departure was to add two players with more finishing power, and Pedro because he did well in the last game. But nothing that can’t come back, we are trying to look for new options – said the assistant.

Corinthians takes the field again on Sunday, at 4pm (Brasília time), against Fluminense, at Neo Química Arena, in the fourth round of the Brazilian Championship.

– The Corinthians fans are impressive, they support us from beginning to end, at a moment like this we have to show it with actions on the field to get a reaction – added Lazaroni.
