Table tennis guarantees place in the regional phase of the Youth Games

This Monday (22) the men’s table tennis team from Guarulhos secured qualification for the regional phase of the Youth Games, a competition organized by the State Sports Secretariat. The competitions took place at the Dunamis Table Tennis Academy, located in Jardim Aida.

In the individual, the final was contested by two athletes from Guarulhos, with Kirio Sakiyama securing first place and Eduardo Yamashita runner-up. In doubles, Eduardo Yamashita / Felipe Ianello, from Guarulhos, beat Jhonatan / Cauã, from Franco da Rocha, 3-1. In the team dispute, Enzo Caccato / Leonardo Oliveira / Diego Lima, from Guarulhos, beat Isaac / Kauã / Cauã, from Franco da Rocha, by 3 sets to 0. In the end Guarulhos scored 43 points, against 32 from Franco da Rocha.

The city entered the competition in several ways. The Guarulhos teams of men’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, men’s futsal, men’s handball and men’s table tennis join the already classified men’s and women’s athletics, women’s basketball, women’s handball and men’s tennis, which guaranteed a direct place in the regional phase.

The state final, which will be held in Araçatuba, has confirmation of rhythmic gymnastics and artistic gymnastics and is expected to take place in June.

Gymnastics Festival

Last Saturday (20) the Bonifácio Cardoso Gymnasium hosted the Arthur Zanetti Artistic Gymnastics Festival. The competition had 102 participants from seven participating clubs/entities: Acrorit, Agith, APJR, Sesi, Clube LFD, Pinda and Foco. The host city was represented by 23 gymnasts.
