You never know where life will take you. Maybe it’s behind the wheel again, I don’t know
Vettel confirmed that he had recently spoken to Mercedes boss Toto Wolff. The team has a vacant seat for next season after Lewis Hamilton signed for Ferrari.
I’ve been talking to him (Toto Wolff), but not about the vacancy. We spoke briefly about the general situation. But I talked to other people too because I still keep in touch (with the F1 cycle)
It would take some calls and negotiations to better understand the situation. But for sure (Mercedes) is one of the best seats on the grid. It has a great record, suffering a little in the last few, but even though it got worse it is still second or third in the Constructors’ (Championships), it’s not like racing in no man’s land
Vettel has been out of Formula 1 since the end of 2022. He has not competed in other races since then, but mentioned in the interview the possibility of making his debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The four-time champion spent the last two years of his career as an Aston Martin driver, where he was 12th in the Drivers’ World Championship in both seasons — ahead of teammate Lance Stroll.
There are things I miss, especially the competition. And things I don’t miss, that hasn’t changed. Obviously, life is very different not being involved (with F1)
