After losing to Ba-Vi in the first leg of the state final, Bahia will have to reverse the deficit to win the 2024 Bahian champion trophy. To do this, the Squadron will need to break a historical taboo.

In Ba-Vis that decided the Bahian title, the team defeated in the first match never managed to emerge champion in the second match.

A survey carried out by ge.globo/ba shows that in 17 round-trip state finals between Bahia and Vitória, the winner of the first game always came out with the title.

Bahia, therefore, is looking to achieve a feat not yet achieved in the history of the Ba-Vis.

In these 17 finals, the winner of the first Ba-Vi only lost on four occasions (1997, 1998, 2010 and 2016).

In 2010, Bahia lost the first leg 1-0, in Pituaçu, and won 2-1 at Barradão, but their rival had the advantage of ‘equal results’, taking the title based on goal difference in the final.

This time, this type of advantage no longer exists.

A Tricolor triumph by just one goal difference will take the decision to penalties. To emerge champions in normal time, Bahia will need to win by at least two more goals. The rival has the advantage of a draw in their favor.
