At a state meeting of PL Amazonas on the night of this Friday (May 3), former president talks about “inefficiency of the Brazilian state”
Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) spoke again about the victims of the rains in Rio Grande do Sul during his visit to Manaus. He participated in the state meeting of the Amazonas Liberal Party, on Friday night (May 3, 2024). The event was also to launch the pre-candidacy of Captain Alberto Neto (PL-AM) for mayor of the capital.
In his speech, he cited the deaths caused by the rains, asked for 1 minute of silence for the victims and criticized the federal government’s conduct. “Our brothers in Rio Grande do Sul are suffering a lot from a natural catastrophe, I regret the inefficiency of the Brazilian state. We experience other situations in my government, and I would be there in RS with my ministers”he said.
The event, held at Arena Amanda Teixeira, started at 8pm and was attended by several supporters of the former president wearing the colors of the Brazilian flag. In addition to speeches by politicians and religious figures, an evangelical service was held.
INDIGENOUS LANDS
During the former Chief Executive’s speech, a child dressed in indigenous elements took the stage and remained next to him. With the girl on his lap, Bolsonaro criticized the demarcation of indigenous lands, saying it was the best for the future of these peoples.
“We cannot allow these children to be raised in isolated environments, on indigenous lands. We want a real future for these children.”he declared.
