In a letter to the PF asking for an investigation, senators commit gaffes and call John Textor the ‘owner of Botafogo Futebol Clube’

The letter signed by the senators Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO), Carlos Portinho (PL-RJ) It is Eduardo Girão (Novo-CE) requesting the Federal police that summon John Textor to provide clarification on reports of match manipulation contains some gaffes.

The first of these is in relation to the name of the Botafogo. In the text, addressed to the general director of the PF, Andrei Rodrigues, John Textor is defined as “owner of Botafogo Futebol Clube”, and Glorioso is, as we know, “Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas”.

Furthermore, the letter talks about “alleged purchase of arbitrations by the Palmeiras team, aiming to win the Brazilian Championship”, and John Textor made it clear that the alviverde club was indirectly benefited, and did not actively participate in the alleged irregularities.

The senators ask that the PF initiate a “complete and rigorous investigation” into the allegations made by Textor and “obtain the aforementioned evidence, if it in fact exists”. The text was sent from the office of Senator Jorge Kajuru, vice-president of the Senate Sports Committee.

Kajuru announced this Tuesday that he will soon begin work on the Manipulation CPI of Football Games Results and has already announced that John Textor will be called to testify on the topic. According to the senator, the owner of SAF do Botafogo intends to hand over to the commission the audios he says he has before going to the Public Ministry.
