Daniel Alves may be single after his rape conviction in Spain. The information was not officially confirmed, but a television channel reported that the player’s wife, model Joana Sanz, was meeting a famous singer.
“Marisa Martín Blázquez (journalist) and I share the same information. It came to several colleagues a month ago that Joana Sanz was going to meet someone, who was going out with a boy. Information that comes to us through the man in question that the model knows”, said journalist Sergio Pérez, on the program “Fiesta” from the TV channel “Telecinco“.
“I received some images of her in Madrid with a very famous singer, at a party, while Dani Alves was in prison. Furthermore, she was seen leaving the club with that guy.”
The model and the player have not yet formally separated. At the beginning of the process, Sanz made public his intention to divorce the former player, but ended up changing his mind. She sided with him and even testified on her behalf at the trial.
Daniel Alves was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for raping a woman in a nightclub in Barcelona, Spain. He paid bail of 1 million euros (R$5.4 million) and left prison.
According to the Spanish press, Daniel Alves is worried because his relationship with Joana Sanz has become “very unpleasant”.
The lawyer Ines Guardiola recommended that the player place a camera to record all his movements in the house, as there are the model’s belongings there.
Sanz lived in the mansion, but moved when the Brazilian left prison.
Conviction of Daniel Alves
On February 22, Daniel Alves was found guilty of the crime of sexual assault and sentenced to four and a half years in prison, in addition to another five years of supervised release and payment of compensation of 150 thousand euros (R$ 798 thousand, at the rate of time) and the costs of the process.
The Spanish Public Ministry asked the athlete for nine years in prison. The victim’s defense requested the maximum sentence for the crime, 12 years.
Judge Isabel Delgado, responsible for the player’s sentence, also ordered that Daniel Alves stay away from his wife for nine years.
