According to Portuguese journalist Pedro Vieira, Neymar Jr. is in negotiations to terminate his contract with Al-Hilal, with Flamengo as his next destination. The possibility of the Brazilian striker’s departure from the Arab club comes amid concerns about the player’s physical problems, which seem to have motivated Al-Hilal to consider the termination in a more flexible manner.

The termination of Neymar’s contract with Al-Hilal would not imply the total loss of the value of his contract. The Arab club would continue to make monthly payments to the striker, although the amounts do not reach the magnitude of their original agreement.

According to Pedro Vieira, the chance of Neymar wearing the Flamengo shirt in the coming months is “VERY high”, potentially marking one of the most notable returns to Brazilian football and expanding expectations about the impact his arrival could have on the Rio club’s performance in the future competitions.

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior

Neymar’s career is a true milestone in world football, filled with important titles and iconic moments both in the clubs he played for and in the Brazilian national team. Developed by Santos, where he made his professional debut in 2009, Neymar quickly stood out, leading the club to glory in the 2011 Copa Libertadores, as well as winning the Campeonato Paulista in 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Copa do Brasil in 2010 and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2012. His undisputed talent made him one of the most promising players of his generation, scoring 136 goals in 225 games for Santos.

In 2013, Neymar moved to Barcelona, where he formed one of the most memorable attacking trios in football history, alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. Known as MSN, the trio were instrumental in winning several titles, including the UEFA Champions League in 2014-2015, La Liga in 2014-15 and 2015-16, the Copa del Rey in 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17, in addition to the Spanish Super Cup in 2013 and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2015. Neymar left his mark on the Catalan club with 105 goals in 186 matches.

Later, in 2017, Neymar made history by becoming the most expensive transfer in football at the time, when he joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). There, he established himself as one of the team’s main players, helping the club win multiple Ligue 1 titles (2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2021-22), as well as the French Cup, the Coupe French League and the Champions Trophy on several occasions. Despite his seasons being punctuated by injuries, Neymar surpassed the 100 goal mark for the French club in several competitions.

For the Brazilian team, Neymar had memorable moments, surpassing Pelé as the team’s top scorer, according to FIFA’s count.
