The Brazilian got 2870 points with the Italian Jasmine Paolini in her wake with 2865. Bia chose to play the WTA 500 in Charleston, USA, starting this week where she should debut on Wednesday. She has a chance to move up and if she lifts the trophy she would reach 3360, probably placing her in 11th place, close to the top 10 occupied by Latvian Jelena Ostapenko with 3438. Bia also remained the 30th best in the season’s ranking.

The lead remains absolute with Iga Swiatek who increased the advantage over Aryna Sabalenka by around 200 points. Now she has 10,835 against 8,045 for the Belarusian, practically 2,800 points. Coco Gauff is third followed by Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula and Ons Jabeur. Greece’s Maria Sakkari moved up two and is seventh, leaving China’s Qinwen Zheng as eighth and Czech Marketa Vondrousova as ninth. Danielle Collins, champion of her biggest tournament in Miami, made a huge jump of 31 positions and is 22nd. The player was already top 10 in July 2022, the year she was a finalist at the Australian Open.

Among the Brazilians, Laura Pigossi, who made quarters in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, dropped three and is 119th. Carol Meligeni, champion in São João da Boa Vista and semi in São Paulo, rose five and is 305th.
