Flavio Briatore, Italian businessman, sports director, and former team leader in Formula 1, revealed on his social networks that he underwent successful heart surgery to remove a benign tumor.

Currently Fernando Alonso’s manager, Briatore underwent a routine check-up at a hospital in Milan around two weeks ago. It was during this examination that the tumor was identified. The Italian promptly underwent surgery, which was successful.

“Hi everyone. Ten days ago, I went to San Raffaele Hospital for a check-up, and at that time, they discovered a benign tumor in my heart. The doctors intervened immediately and here I am, to tell you,” said Briatore, who has now returned home.

The 72-year-old businessman took the opportunity to reinforce the importance of prevention. “The most important thing, guys, is to do prevention, check-ups, every year. I had it done two years ago, and at that time I didn’t have this benign tumor, and this year I did. We must not be careless. Prevention is fundamental”, he concluded.
