Brunno Hulk accuses Russian promise of ‘running away’ from fight and guarantees hunt for rival

training partner Bruno Blindado at Brazilian TKO, Brunno Ferreira, better known as ‘Hulk’, expresses outrage when commenting on attempts to confront Sharabutdin Magomedov. Seeking to avenge the defeat suffered by his friend in UFC 294the Brazilian claims to have had support from the organization to carry out the confrontation, but accuses the Russian promise of having ‘fled’ on two occasions.

After Shara was announced as a participant in an event scheduled for Saudi Arabia in the early hours of this Thursday (28) to face Ihor PotieriaHulk spoke exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS about discontent with the situation.

“(…) I had Shara as my main objective in those times. I fought in January with the intention of calling him after the victory. When this fight (against Shara) appeared in December, at UFC China, I had already accepted it straight away because the fight already had a narrative (…) when this fight appeared now (again), we accepted it, it was going to be on the card from Saudi Arabia, June 22nd. They were about to submit the contract and it ran for the second time”, lamented Hulk.

Despite the difficulty in scheduling the confrontation, Brunno promised to continue seeking to avenge his training partner’s defeat.

“These guys have a habit of running away from fights that are bad for them. He ran away, it’s a totally bad fight. So I see that because he accepted a fight that, for him, is easier, he is not an impressive opponent, who has a grappling game like mine. My mainstay is 100% grappling, but I have knockout power. He was unprofessional and left me hanging once again. I will win the next fight and call him again. He does this to me until he asks for music on Fantástico, three times running. One day he will have to cross my path”, he said.

Confident, Hulk does not believe that the Russian is a match to deal with his flagship, but highlighted Shara’s ability.

“He’s not a guy who would pose much of a risk, you’d have to be very careful with his footwork, but Dana White himself said that taking him down was very easy, especially since he’s Russian from Dagestan. Being taken down and kept on the ground like that showed a lot of errors in his game. I considered myself very well prepared technically, physically and mentally”, he concluded.

Hired via Contender Series, Brunno Hulk has two wins and one defeat in his career in Ultimate. In his last appearance, the Brazilian knocked out Phil Hawes and won the ‘Performance of the Night’ award at the UFC Las Vegas 84.
