Spain – The Public Ministry of Spain announced, this Wednesday (27), the request for two and a half years in prison for the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, for the crimes of sexual assault and coercion in the case of the non-consensual kiss with player Jenni Hermoso, after last year’s World Cup final, in Sydney.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, the conclusions sent by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to the National Court also include a request to serve a sentence of one and a half years in prison for three more people: the former coach of the women’s team Jorge Vilda, former federation marketing director Rubén Rivera and men’s national team director Albert Luque, who are being accused of coercion.
In addition to the prison sentence, the prosecution also asks that Rubiales be prohibited from carrying out any role in the sports field while the sentence is in force and that he be placed on probation for two years.
The extension of the request also aims to veto any type of communication between Rubiales and the player and also prohibits her from approaching Jenni Hermoso within a radius of 200 meters for a period of four years.

The case, which has been considered by a judge of the National Court, is being carried out outside an investigation: that of the contacts of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, such as the transfer of the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia.
