Miami (USA) – Tuesday in Miami will be a full round of 16 for the men’s tournament and the start of the quarterfinals for the women’s group. The daytime session will feature the last two winners among men, Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz, as well as three-time champion Victoria Azarenka.

Medvedev opens the program at 1pm (Brasília time) against German Dominik Koepfer, 50th in the rankings. The Russian won the two previous duels. Alcaraz will play at 4:30 pm in a youth duel against Lorenzo Musetti. The Spaniard leads the record against the Italian 2-1.

The women’s round starts at 3pm with Victoria Azarenka taking on Kazakh Yulia Putintseva. The former world number 1 won the two previous duels, both in three sets. Starting at 8pm, it will be the turn of the duel between Maria Sakkari and Elena Rybakina. The Kazakh is 2-1 in the record against the Greek.

Names like Jannik Sinner and Casper Ruud have games scheduled for the Grandstand court, as well as the good duel between Grigor Dimitrov and Hubert Hurkacz. At the end of the round in the main stadium, German Alexander Zverev faces Russian Karen Khachanov.

The last Brazilian remaining in the tournament, Marcelo Melo from Minas Gerais is looking for a place in the doubles quarterfinals, alongside Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin. They face Americans Christopher Eubanks and Ben Shelton.
