Released this Thursday (25), a survey by the Paraná Institute reveals that 77.8% of voters do not know or prefer not to answer who they will vote for mayor in the October elections this year. With just over five months left until voting, almost 8, in each group of 10 people, have not yet made their choices.

In the spontaneous survey, the one in which the interviewer does not even mention a candidate’s name, the first to appear in the population’s mind, after the legion of undecided voters, is Mayor Adriane Lopes (PP) with 4.0% of voting intentions. Former governor André Puccinelli (MDB) is second with 3.9% and federal deputy Humberto Pereira, “Beto Pereira” (PSDB), is third with 3.3%.

In fourth place is the head of Sudeco (Superintendency of Development of the Central-West), Rose Modesto (União Brasil), with 1.9%; in fifth, former state deputy Rafael Tavares (PL) with 0.9%; and, in sixth, federal deputy Camila Jara (PT), with 0.6%.

The last ones are state deputy Lucas de Lima, “Lucas De Lima Do Amor Sem Fim” (PDT) with 0.6%, and former state deputy Renan Contar, “Capitão Contar”, with 0.4% ( PRTB).

Of the 800 respondents, 6.0% responded that they would not vote for anyone, blank or invalid; while 0.8% cited other names not disclosed by the institute.

Stimulated searches – In four of the five stimulated surveys, those in which respondents receive a list with the names of certain pre-candidates, the scenario changes and former governor André Puccinelli (MDB) appears first in voting intentions. Rose Modesto (União Brasil) is second in three of the surveys and first in one of them. Adriane is in third or fourth, depending on the names placed.

Rose obtained more votes among women (24.0%), 14.2% of which were from men. Adriane had 15.6% men and 13.4% women. Beto Pereira has 15.3% of the male electorate and 8.3% of the female electorate.

Rose is in third, with 15.9%, Adriane in fourth, with 12.3% and, then, “Beto Pereira” with 9.8%; Camila with 5.9% and Jaime Verruck with 1.0%.

In one of the scenarios, federal deputy Marcos Pollon also appears, in sixth place, with 5.1%, in the survey led by Puccinelli, Rose and Adriane.

Rejection – On the negative aspect, which shows who the electorate would not vote for at all, Puccinelli is first with 28.4%, Adriane second with 24.6%, and Contar third with 22.6%.
