The public servant who killed the psychologist Fabiana Maia Veras42 years old, in Assu, Rio Grande do Norte, approached the victim to get information about his ex-girlfriend, according to the Civil Police.

The main line of investigation is that Fabiana had a close relationship with the suspect’s ex-partner and that he approached the professional to try to obtain information from her.

The victim’s cell phone was found destroyed in the suspect’s apartment, but the expert was able to verify it through the IMEI [código de identificação do celular] that it was the psychologist’s device.

“His intention, it seems, was to get this cell phone (from the psychologist), which he brought to Natal and destroyed, to get the contents, to find out what type of relationship he had with his ex-partner. His intention was really have information about the ex through the psychologist”, explained the delegate from the Homicide and Personal Protection Division of Natal (DHPP), Márcio Lemos.

Fabiana was found dead on Tuesday (23) inside her home in the city of Assú, in the Western Region of Rio Grande do Norte. In addition to living at the address, the place was also where the psychologist provided services.

According to the police, the body was gagged and had marks of stab wounds. The police are investigating the case as a homicide.

The arrested man is a member of the Rio Grande do Norte Court of Justice. He is 41 years old, according to the Civil Police. Until the most recent update of this report, the TJRN had not commented on the server’s arrest.

He was arrested early this Wednesday afternoon (24) upon arriving at one of his properties, in Natal. Inside his car, police officers and experts from the Technical-Scientific Institute of Expertise (Itep) found a bag with three knives, two brass knuckles and a pistol with blood on it.

Experts also collected possible fragments of blood on the building’s stairs and inside the suspect’s apartment.
