– At no point was my intention to attack. I tried to get away from him (lineman), but unfortunately I did it in the worst possible way and deserved the expulsion. The Corinthians defender ended up being sent off in the 13th minute of the second half, moments after the team created a dangerous play with Wesley on the left side of the attack.

With one down, Corinthians only managed to trouble the Argentinos Juniors goalkeeper in stoppage time, with a header from Cacá and lost the third consecutive game in 2024.

The defeat in Argentina ratified the bad moment of António Oliveira’s team. There are four matches without finding the net and without winning this season.
