The core consumer spending price index (PCE) in the United States rose 0.3% in February compared to January, decelerating compared to the 0.5% observed in the previous month, which represents a revision of the number of 0.4% presented previously. The data was released this Friday (29) by the American Department of Commerce.

The indicator was in line with what was expected by agents consulted by Reuters, who expected an increase of 0.3%. Core PCE is the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) preferred measure of inflation and excludes changes in food and energy prices, which are considered more volatile.

As it is also a holiday in the United States, the repercussion of the data should be until next week.
