Survey from Paraná Research shows that the former first lady has 43.4% of voting intentions, while the PT member has 44.5%

If the presidential elections were held today (they are only in 2026), the name of the center and center-right that appears as the most competitive in a direct dispute against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), 78 years old, is the former -First Lady, Michelle Bolsonaro (PL), 42 years old. She never contested an election, but she was tested in a voting intention study by Paraná Pesquisas and scored 43.4% against 44.5% for the PT member.

This research was widely publicized on social media by the national president of the PP, senator Ciro Nogueira, from Piauí. The party ordered the survey.

Michelle Bolsonaro today heads the so-called PL Mulher and has been identified as a possible successor to Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in a presidential dispute, given that her husband remains disqualified by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) for now.

Other candidates tested in the survey, all scoring numerically below Michelle (sometimes within the margin of error) were these: the governors of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans); Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (New); Paraná, Ratinho Junior (PSD); and Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), as well as senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) and Ciro Nogueira himself.

The survey was carried out from March 18 to 22, 2024. It interviewed 2,2024 voters from 162 cities in the 27 UFs (federative units). The survey’s margin of error is 2.2 pp and the confidence level is 95%. Read the full text (PDF – 633 kB).
