Israel bombed Hezbollah buildings and bases in eastern Lebanon this Tuesday, the 26th, in one of the most intense attacks in almost six months, state media and a security source reported.

According to the official National Information Agency (ANI), “an Israeli drone” attacked a location near the city of Baalbeck, in the Beka Plain, in the early afternoon.

An AFP correspondent saw a building belonging to pro-Iranian Hezbollah in flames and two people being evacuated by rescuers.

Shortly before, Israeli bombing hit the Hermel region, almost 130 kilometers from the border with Israel.

The Israeli Army said in a statement that it “attacked an airstrip and several military structures in a compound belonging to Hezbollah’s air unit” in that region.

Hezbollah has frequently used drones in its attacks against Israel from Lebanon to support its ally Hamas.

ANI reported “Israeli shelling in the Wadi Faara area”, near the city of Hermel, where explosions were heard.

A security source confirmed to AFP attacks in an arid and uninhabited area, about 30 kilometers from the border with Syria.

The Lebanese Armed Forces and Hezbollah blocked access to the area, according to an AFP correspondent.

The region’s governor, Bachir Khodr, stated on the social network X that he “was not informed of any victims”.
