The weekly dengue report, released this Tuesday (26) by the State Department of Health (Sesa), records another 22,767 cases and 18 deaths in the State. With this update, Paraná now has 135,961 cases and 77 deaths in this seasonal period (2023/2024).

Of the 18 deaths confirmed this Tuesday, two are in Apucarana. Now, the municipality has 11 deaths caused by the disease. The bulletin also brought another 631 cases, bringing the number of confirmations to 13,450. Apucarana is the city with the most cases of dengue in Paraná. See the situation in the region below

The deaths confirmed this Tuesday in Apucarana are an 81-year-old man, without comorbidities, who died on February 7, and a 94-year-old woman, without comorbidities, who died on February 21.

The regions with the most confirmed cases of dengue are the 16th RS of Apucarana (21,508), 10th of Cascavel (18,468), 8th RS of Francisco Beltrão (15,168), 17th RS of Londrina (13,546), 15th RS of Maringá (11,208) and 11th RS of Campo Mourão (9,629). The municipalities with the most confirmed cases are Apucarana (13,450), Londrina (9,929), Cascavel (8,210), Maringá (6,100) and Paranavaí (3,998).

The confirmed deaths in Paraná are people between 25 and 100 years old, nine men and nine women. Nine people did not have comorbidities. They were registered in different Health Regions: São João (7th RS), Luiziana (11th RS), Mandaguari (15th RS) and Cornélio Procópio (18th RS) registered one death; Cascavel (10th RS), Apucarana (16th RS) and Toledo (20th RS), two deaths per municipality; Londrina (17th RS), four deaths; and in the 8th RS there were four deaths, two in Ampére, one in Cruzeiro do Iguaçu and one in Nova Esperança do Sudoeste.

This is the 29th Epidemiological Report published by Sesa Environmental Surveillance, which also recorded 306,340 notifications, 214,915 probable cases and 71,262 cases under investigation. In total, 91,425 cases have already been discarded. Of the 399 municipalities, 356 presented autochthonous cases, when the disease is contracted locally, and all municipalities had notifications.

CHIKUNGUNYA – The new bulletin also confirmed a new case of chikungunya, totaling 92 confirmations of the disease in the State. Of the total cases, 58 are indigenous (when the disease is contracted in the municipality of residence). There are also 380 cases under investigation and 923 notifications.

Since the beginning of this period there have been no confirmed cases of Zika virus. 87 notifications were registered.
