President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will have a fleet of planes and helicopters at his disposal while he is in office.
How is the fleet
- It is made up of a group of helicopters and planes of different types, which can be used for service or for security reasons and always serve national representatives.
- All aircraft are the responsibility of the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) and are part of the GTE (Special Transport Group), which turns 82 in 2023.
- Each one is chosen according to flight distance, duration, safety, availability, among other factors.
- The president uses, as a priority, the VC-1 and VC-2, while the other aircraft are used more frequently by other authorities.

Other aircraft
In the past, presidents also had aircraft such as helicopters at their disposal. VH-55 Squirrel (family model) AS350) and VH-34 Super Puma (family model) AS332).
In 1976, they were incorporated into the fleet of the GTE two Boeings 737-200, named VC-96. nicknamed scraptoday one of them is at the Musal (Aerospace Museum), in Rio de Janeiro, while the other is on a lawn in Foz do Iguaçu.

Another was the Sucatão, a Boeing 707 with the military designation of KC-137. The nickname was given because of the age of the aircraft, which was manufactured in 1968 and only ceased to be the main presidential transport plane with the beginning of flights with the Aerosquidin 2005.
