Videos taken by Military Police body cameras recorded the moment when businessman Fernando Sastre, 24, was released by police officers shortly after crashing his Porsche worth more than R$1 million in the early hours of March 31, in the East zone of São Paulo. In the recording, it is possible to see that Fernando and his mother try to flee the scene of the accident, but are stopped by the police, who approach the two and take information from the businessman. However, during the conversation, Fernando’s mother convinces the military that she would take her son to Hospital São Luiz. Also during the conversation with the military, Fernando spoke about the accident: ‘We were leaving the party. We were going to go to my house. Play snooker. Then, out of nowhere, a horrible accident happened and… This happened. I don’t remember anything anymore’.
Despite being released by the police, Fernando and his mother were not admitted to any hospital in the São Luiz network, as confirmed by the company itself. Instead, he went home and only reported to the police station the next day. Because of this, Daniela Cristina de Medeiros Andrade was indicted as a co-perpetrator for fleeing the scene of the accident. Fernando was already indicted for homicide due to intentional bodily injury (in the case of the passenger who was in the Porsche) and fleeing the scene of the accident. He is free for the crime and has already had at least two requests for arrest denied.
Businessman hits, kills app driver and escapes

The military ended up releasing Fernando and he left with his mother. However, when they arrived at the hospital to collect the driver’s version and take a breathalyzer test, they were informed that the man had not been admitted to any hospital in the network.
The app driver who was driving the Renault, Ornaldo da Silva Viana, aged 52, was rescued by firefighters with a cardiorespiratory arrest, but died shortly after being admitted to a hospital in Tatuapé. Ornaldo was alone at the time of the accident.
The Military Police tried to contact the businessman who was driving the Porsche by phone, but were unsuccessful. He presented himself at a police station the day after the accident.accompanied by a lawyer, and was released after giving a statement.
