Two women aged 64 and 31 are attracting attention in Rio de Janeiro for living in McDonald’s in Leblon, an upscale neighborhood in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, for three months. Residents say that mother and daughter, aged 64 and 31, have been there since Carnival.

As revealed by CBN radio, women travel around the fast-food chain with five large suitcases, where they keep all their belongings. Their routine varies according to the unit’s opening hours. From 10am to 5am, when the store is open, mother and daughter stay inside the McDonald’s and eat local food. When the store closes, the two wait outside.

What catches the attention of those who pass by the place is that the women are always clean, well dressed and use cell phones. They also have money to buy sandwiches while they stay at the establishment and other products in stores in the region.

CBN also raised that women have already had problems and were evicted from properties in Rio Grande do Sul and Rio de Janeiro for not paying the rent. In the South, they were convicted by the Court of Justice for defaulting for four months on a debt of almost R$10,000. In Rio de Janeiro, there are three debts in both their names. In one of them, the Court ordered the eviction, due to accumulating a deficit of R$ 13,252.36.

In an interview with the newspaper O DIA, the women denied that they had been living in the fast-food chain for three months and expressed surprise at the exposure:

“I think what generated curiosity was envy. If it had been a person with dark skin, if it had been a person with little clothing, with little suitcase, it wouldn’t have aroused curiosity. If I hadn’t been blonde and attractive I wouldn’t have aroused curiosity” he said. the 31-year-old daughter.

She did not want to give details about the reasons that led her to this situation:

“The situation is that I don’t owe you satisfaction. I haven’t been here since Carnival. I worked afterwards. I could clarify, but I don’t want to. Whoever continues with these stories that are impossible, whoever continues investigating other people’s lives, will face criminal prosecution and damage in the civil area”, he told the portal O DIA.
