Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department”, was released last Friday (19)

Last Friday (19), Taylor Swift released its 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department” (TTPD). With 31 new tracks, the album arrives after a two-year hiatus since “Midnights”. Between the two new releases, the singer re-recorded four of her old albums – which, in fact, represents another of the countless records that Swift stole from herself.

In addition to becoming the most played album on Spotify in a single day, surpassing the last album’s record, the news also gave Taylor the record for the artist with the most streams in a single day in the platform’s history – previously, the milestone belonged to “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”, re-release of the 2014 original.

  • On the day of its release (19), “The Tortured Poets Department” became the album with the most streams in a single day in Spotify history. Taylor Swift now holds the three most streamed albums in 24 hours on the platform: TTPD, “Midnights” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”.
  • The release became the first album in Spotify history to have more than 300 million streams in a single day;
  • In three days, TTPD generated 490.2 million streams on Spotify;
  • TTPD marked the Taylor’s biggest sales week for an albumwith 1.4 million copies sold;
  • In less than 12 hours after launch, the opening track from Taylor’s 11th album“Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)”, became the song with the most streams in 24 hours in the history of Spotify;
  • Also 700,000 vinyl copies have already been soldbreaking in just three days the record for weekly vinyl sales (which was previously held by the album 1989, with 693 thousand copies);
  • On April 18, the singer’s new album became the most pre-saved playlist in Spotify’s history;
  • On August 29, 2023, Taylor Swift became the first female artist in Spotify history to reach 100 million monthly listeners.
