Brazil came very close to victory at the Gold Coast Pro 2024. Samuel Pupo and Luana Silva reached the decision, but the victories went to Australian Mikey McDonagh and Canadian Erin Brooks. Ian Gouveia finished the first CS stage of the season in third place. João Chianca and Michael Rodrigues came in fifth. Finals were held this Saturday (4/5) in waves of around 1 meter at Snapper Rocks, Queensland, Australia.

Mikey opened the 35-minute final right from the start with six attacks worth 6.83 points. Soon after, he caught a bad right and after 4 minutes scored another 5.33 points. Samuel surfed for the first time in the contest at 5 minutes, but after a crash and a cutback he was unable to connect with the second section on the right and started with 3.33, needing 8.83 to win the Gold Coast Pro for the second time in a row.
