The meeting took place a few days after Boulos became the target of criticism following a publication by Homeless Workers Movement (MTST)referring to Easter, show the phrase “a good criminal is a dead criminal” being said by soldiers next to an image of the crucified Jesus. People linked to the pre-candidate’s campaign claim, however, that the meeting between Boulos and Dom Odilo was already scheduled before the controversy. Boulos did not comment on the case. Other pre-candidates, however, such as Ricardo Nunes (MDB) and Kim Kataguiri (União Brasil) also referred to the deputy on social media: Nunes said he was “outraged”, and linked the post to “Boulos’ gang”. Kim wrote thanking the MSTS for the post, stating that it “buried Boulos’ candidacy”. The MTST stated that it was impressed by the “lack of interpretation” regarding the image.
