Senator Cleitinho Azevedo (Republicanos-MG) used his profile on a social network to pay tribute to his father, José Maria de Azevedo, killed this Wednesday (27), in Belo Horizonte.
The patriarch of the family, which has other members in politics, such as state deputy Eduardo Azevedo and the mayor of Divinópolis, Gleidson Azevedo, both from the Novo party, was a merchant and was facing cancer.
Cleitinho recalled a case of his father, when he faced financial difficulties in maintaining the business, in the Center-West region of Minas Gerais.
“There was a restaurant customer who kept buying from retail to help us and he didn’t even need it, but he was still buying just to help! We managed to work, pay the bills and get back on our feet again and this client went and found himself in financial difficulties and as a result was not paying for the purchases he made at Varejão. One of my brothers, nervous about this, told my father: I’m going to charge him. My father took his hand and said don’t go, stay here and told my brother: now it’s time for us to help him, remember that he helped us all”, he said.
“Gratitude for the father you were, for the husband, for the grandfather, for the son, for the brother you were! Eternal gratitude for the man of God that you were here on earth!”, added Cleitinho in a publication that includes a photo with his father.
