“That’s something different, coming from a whole other musical region: he was a revolutionary with that guitar! He was a master of composition, a complete artist in every way, he could compose those incredible chords and memorable songs that will live forever. I had a huge Bob Marley phase that lasted many years. I collected everything that belonged to him, went to Jamaica three times and visited his grave… I even worked on three Soulfly albums with his graphic artist, Neville Garrick, who told me all the stories in many hours of conversation about it.”

“I love how Bob Marley described his guitar as a machine gun. It’s like that famous quote [escrita no violão] by Woody Guthrie ‘This machine kills fascists!’ It’s cool how he saw her [sua guitarra] in this way, like a weapon. He was a great musician: maybe not in terms of solos, but more in terms of composition and finding the right chords.”
